POTS stands for postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome, which is a disorder of the autonomic nervous system, a form of dysautonomia. POTS is estimated to impact over 6,000,000 Americans, and millions more around the world. Despite its prevalence, most people have never heard of POTS. Many doctors are unfamiliar with POTS, which can make getting a diagnosis and proper treatment extremely difficult.
Dysautonomia International is a 501(c)(3) non-profit that seeks to improve the lives of people around the world living with disorders of the autonomic nervous system. The organization offers patient and physician education resources, community outreach, legislative advocacy and patient support for all autonomic disorders. Dysautonomia International is also the largest non-governmental source of POTS research funding in the world!
Hi! We are Erin Harten and Taylor Kulp, co-founders of the Race to Beat POTS. After meeting at the Dysautonomia International Conference in 2015, we decided to work together to raise awareness and research funds for POTS.
We are so grateful for all the support you have shown us throughout these last decade. With your help, we have built a community that is making a difference in the dysautonomia world. We can not thank you all enough for being on this journey with us.
We can't wait to celebrate our 10th Race to Beat POTS with you! Working together, we can #CurePOTS!
