HOW TO GET INVOLVED

IN-PERSON REGISTRATION: Join local dysautonomia families and friends at Bur-Mil Park in Greensboro, North Carolina for a 5K walk on Saturday, October 15, 2022 to raise funds for Dysautonomia International's Dysautonomia Research Fund. Registration opens at 9:30 AM and the race/walk starts at 10:00 AM. Run, walk, wheelchair roll, or join us just to show your support for the cause! During registration, you also have the option to can create a personal or team fundraising page to raise funds for dysautonomia research.

VIRTUAL RACE REGISTRATION: Even if you can't attend in person, you can register to start an individual or team fundraising page. Ask your friends and family to donate to support dysautonomia research. We'll award prizes to the individual and team that raise the most funds!

DONATE FUNDS: If you don't want to register for the race, but would like to support dysautonomia research, donate to a friend's team or to the overall event.
 

DAY OF EVENT DETAILS

LOCATION
The event takes place at Bur-Mil Park, 5834 Bur-Mil Club Road, Greensboro, NC. Registration will be at Shelter 5 (see map below) right across from the Wildlife Center. This pavilion is where everyone will check in, where our silent auction will be held, and where prize announcements will be made. For those that have little ones, there is also a large play set with slides and swings right next to the pavilion.

CHECK IN
Registration opens at 9:30 AM. The race/walk starts at 10:00 AM. We suggest you come early (anytime after 9:30 AM) to pick-up your goodie bag, t-shirt, and bib at the registration desk, and to avoid any wait. If you have friends who would like to join the event who haven't registered yet, we welcome same day registrations at the event, but please note we may not have a t-shirt available for same day registrants. 

WEATHER POLICY
The event is rain or shine, unless conditions are unsafe (lightening, heavy winds). We will post cancellation/postponement notices on this page if that happens so check back here if you are unsure. 

AWARDS CEREMONY
The awards ceremony will be held after the race/walk, at roughly 11:15 AM. Don’t forget about our new prize category that requires no running or walking - Best "Make Noise For Turquoise" Dysautonomia Awareness Outfit! We can’t wait to see your turquoise outfits!!!

REFRESHMENTS
Salty snacks and water will be provided, but we strongly suggest you bring a filled water bottle too. There will be some seating, but we encourage participants to bring lawn chairs or a picnic blanket to sit on. Bringing a picnic blanket is much easier than dragging a chair around the park, plus you can lay down on a blanket.

COVID-19 POLICY
Please help us protect the health of dysautonomia patients, caregivers, volunteers and other guests. If you or someone you have been exposed to has recently had COVID-19, or you have unexplained symptoms suggestive of an infection (cough, fever, chills, etc.), please stay home. Masks are welcomed, but not required, for this outdoor event. The event is in a large open park, so there is plenty of space to spread out while still enjoying the festivities.

If your business, family, or team is interested in becoming a sponsor please sign up for a sponsorship during registration or call our office at 631-202-1720. Please note, the t-shirts have already been ordered, so we cannot add sponsor logos to t-shirts at this time, but we can add them to the event website.

PLATINUM LEVEL
$1000 - Recognition on race t-shirt and event website. Recognition in an email sent to all race participants. Six complimentary race registrations and race t-shirts.

GOLD LEVEL
$500 - Recognition on race t-shirt and event website. Four complimentary race registrations and race t-shirts.

SILVER LEVEL
$250 - Recognition on race t-shirt and event website. Two complimentary race registrations and race t-shirts.
