2nd Annual Art with a Heart Fundraiser
Join us on Sunday, October 27th at 2:00pm at Big Boss Brewing Co., for a fun afternoon meeting local dysautonomia families and taking part in an exciting silent auction featuring donated local artwork. The Dysautonomia International North Carolina Support group is excited to share with you a wonderful presentation with videos and speakers from the local dysautonomia community members.
All proceeds benefit Dysautonomia International, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that advocates for over 70 million people worldwide who live with a form of dysautonomia through research, physician education, public awareness and patient empowerment programs.
Tickets include access to the art auction, raffle extravaganza, face painting & crafts, door prize drawings and complimentary non-alcoholic beverages and light refreshments. Beer is available for purchase. You will have the opportunity to view great art, meet new friends, share stories, and enjoy a relaxing afternoon in Raleigh.
We look forward to seeing you there!
More About Dysautonomia:
DYSAUTONOMIA (dis’-oughta-no’-me-uh) is an umbrella term that includes many different disorders of the autonomic nervous system. The autonomic nervous system controls all of the involuntary functions of the body, like heart rate, blood pressure, digestion, and temperature control. Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS) is one of the most common forms of dysautonomia, impacting an estimated 1-3 million Americans. POTS can impact people of any age or gender, but the majority of patients are women between the ages of 12 and 50. Most people have never heard of dysautonomia or POTS, including many doctors. As a result, the average amount of time it takes for a patient to be diagnosed is over four years. We are on a mission to change that!
