Please join us for our annual 5K run, walk or roll (wheelchairs & strollers welcome) - with an optional 1K route at Sheehan Park in Sun Prairie, WI. There will be food, drinks, live music, and a vendor fair after the run/walk. Check in begins at 9am with a race time start of 10am. Free cheese samples available at every 1K completed. Or for the more serious runner, earn a prize for finishing top in your age group! The race will use bib chip timing.
Running Coach Training Program
We are offering a free, optional 12-week "Couch to 5K" training program with the Running Diva Mom (optional 1K route). Just answer yes to the Coach to 5K program during the registration process. You will receive a link in your registration confirmation email on how to pick the program that meets your needs - walking, running, or recumbent options are available. A private Facebook group is included to provide training tips, motivation, inspiration and more! Not on Facebook? The program can be done by email.
Save the Cheese! Find the Mice!
Help us save the cheese! Kids 12 & under can participate in a mouse scavenger hunt at Sheehan Park after the race. See registration table for instructions. Prizes for those who find a mouse! Please register for the free hunt so that we know how many scurrying mice to hide.
Why Run? Why Donate?
With over 70 million worldwide affected by dysautonomia, we need your help to make a difference! Dysautonomia is an umbrella term that includes many disorders that affect the autonomic nervous system. This system controls automatic body functions such as digestion, heart rate, blood pressure, pupil dilation, kidney function and more. Symptoms can be mild to debilitating.
One of the more common forms of dysautonomia is called POTS (postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome). POTS can impact people of any age or gender, but the majority of patients are women between the ages of 12 and 50. An estimated 1 in 100 teens are impacted. The disability seen in POTS is similar to that of congestive heart failure or COPD, but POTS receives much less research funding. It's time for a change!
So make a difference today by registering or donating to help support Dysautonomia International's research, education, advocacy, awareness & patient empowerment programs!
